Formafantasma

Andrea Trimarchi (1983) and Simone Farresin (1980) form the Italian duo FORMAFANTASMA based in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The talent of this tandem is recognized for their experimentation with new materials and the link they create between craftsmanship and industry. For the exhibition "Face to Face with an Icon" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the A Chair by TOLIX, Formafantasma proposes "Genesis", an A Chair suspended on a structure with on the other side of the pendulum, a piece of steel of the same weight as the chair. "Our idea is to let the public know more about this chair. We have neither modified nor added any elements to the original design. We simply hung it on a structure with a piece of metal on the other side of the pendulum that weighs the same as the chair. The public can thus discover the production process and experience the efficient use of metal.
